The 411 on planning a successful event. . . The first 4 things to consider:
Next plan your agenda carefully to fit into your allotted time period. If it is a lengthy period of time, a half day or more, be sure to plan breaks and things to do that don't require strict attention. People today will only listen to a speaker for 30-50 minutes at a time no matter how good s/he is. Then promote, promote, promote. It's best to allow at least six weeks lead time to announce an event and get those you want to come to schedule it into their calendars. As it gets closer to your registration deadline, pump up the promotion. Always be sure to advertise date, time, place, and a little about the plans for the event.
